Metrics Toolkit
Urban Universities for HEALTH has developed an interactive, web-based toolkit to help university leaders to measure efforts to build a diverse and culturally competent health and scientific workforce. Customizable to fit each institution’s unique mission and local needs, the toolkit provides resources to help establish baseline measures to record progress over time, improve internal reporting, develop strategic plan metrics, and set long-term goals. (Note: The toolkit does not provide an institutional assessment, collect institutional data, provide data for download, or benchmark institutions against each other.)
Toolkit resources include:
- An interactive web tool, the Metrics Generator, to select strategies, indicators, and measures that align with an institution’s unique mission and local needs;
- 1-page summary of Urban Universities for HEALTH workforce strategies;
- Complete list of strategies, indicators and measures included in the Metrics Generator;
- Detailed evidence base to support health and scientific workforce strategies;
- Glossary of key terms;
- Example case studies from the Urban Universities for HEALTH demonstration sites to highlight best practices using the strategies and data in the toolkit; and
- Sample institutional dashboards to demonstrate how data might be displayed.
